1. About this policy
This policy explains what the KeyAI website stores on your device, which outside services it uses, and how you can change your choices. It covers this website only. For how we handle personal data generally, see our Privacy policy.
2. Our approach
This website doesn't set any cookies. It keeps a few small items in your browser's storage instead, and only what the site needs to work is stored without your permission. Everything else waits until you agree in the banner or in .
3. What we store in your browser
| Name | Category | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
keyai-consent |
Necessary | Remembers your privacy choices, so we don't ask again on every page. | 6 months, then we ask again |
keyai-chat-open |
Necessary | Reopens the assistant after you switch between chat and voice. | A few seconds (this visit only) |
keyai_beacon_oversized |
Necessary | Temporarily keeps a call record from the assistant if it couldn't be sent when a call ended. | Until it's sent |
keyai-theme |
Preferences | Your light, dark or system colour theme. | Until you change it |
keyai-lang |
Preferences | The language you picked in the language menu. | Until you change it |
keyai-chat-mode |
Preferences | Whether you prefer chat or a voice call with our assistant, if you tick "Remember my choice". | Until you change it |
Without your permission for Preferences, your theme, language and chat choice still work, but only until you close your browser.
4. Analytics and marketing
We don't currently use analytics or marketing tools on this website. If we add them, they'll appear in Cookie settings and won't run until you agree.
5. Our AI assistant
Our assistant, Affina, runs on the KeyAI platform provided by Radiant Communication. It loads on most pages and contacts KeyAI to set itself up, which, like any web request, shares your IP address. Your messages and audio are only sent once you start a chat or a voice call. When you do:
- your messages, and for voice calls your audio, go to KeyAI to produce Affina's replies;
- voice calls are processed by OpenAI's realtime speech service;
- at the start of a voice call, your approximate location (country and city) is looked up from your IP address with ipapi.co, and basic device details are added to the call record;
- the speech-detection engine for voice calls is downloaded from the jsDelivr content network, which sees your IP address like any website you visit.
Before your first conversation, Affina asks you to agree to these terms. [Placeholder: confirm data locations, retention of conversations and recordings, and the sub-processors involved.]
6. Changing your choices
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time in , also linked at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent moves your preferences back to this visit only. You can also clear this site's data in your browser settings.
